ABOUT
Leadership Development Events allow students to showcase their public speaking and agriculture literacy abilities. The events target all students, whether they excel in memorization or quick thinking.
The FFA provides a variety of public speaking opportunities, including individual and team competitions. Team events allow members to work together and compete with confidence and proper communication.
TEAM EVENTS
OPENING AND CLOSING
PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE
The team is evaluated on their ability to debate and present motions while using properly using parliamentary law.
The team consists of six members holding an opening and closing ceremony while being evaluated on public speaking abilities and team chemistry.
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
CREED
The contest evaluates a first-year member's ability to present the FFA Creed, which is a sequence of paragraphs outlining the organizations beliefs.
IMPROMPTU
Second-year students are tested on their impromptu skills by speaking about a randomly selected agricultural topic with little preparation time.
EXTEMPERANEOUS
Participants will present a four to six-minute speech about randomly selected agricultural topic with thirty minutes to prepare
PREPARED
The contestants will prepare a six to eight-minute speech about an agricultural-based topic of their choice and then present it to a panel of judges.
JOB INTERVIEW
The students submit a resume, and cover letter, complete a job application, and go through a mock interview process with people of the industry.
