On Wednesday, August 24, Righetti FFA welcomed back members back for the upcoming school year. The Righetti FFA officer team hosted a luau themed meeting for the members. Over two hundred were present at the meeting that evening. Activities at the meeting included a watermelon eating contest, limbo contest, and an update of upcoming chapter events. For chapter historian Erin Trathen, this was the first meeting she hosted as an officer.
“I had originally been very nervous for my first meeting as an officer. I had a high expectation for myself and felt that it was my obligation for the meeting to run smoothly. We had a few hiccups, but adapted quickly, showing the adversity of the officer team and the entire FFA. I really enjoyed opening and closing and loved watching the activities! I can’t wait for the next meeting!”
A social event was put on, and some of the students from the agriculture leadership class helped serve snow cones. They were also introduced to the officer team and given a glimpse of our FFA program plus activities for the upcoming school year. The next meeting will be on September 14th at 5PM!
